About

Therapist

Gale Nienhuis

My name is Gale Nienhuis and I am a Private Practice Therapist and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My main areas of practice include depression, anxiety, life transitions, grief and loss, and coping with chronic illness. Life is complex and very difficult at times, but if we are willing we can find the ability to move forward in a positive and meaningful way. Healing takes courage and we all have courage. It may take a bit of digging to find that courage. My philosophy and approach to therapy are based in helping clients and families use their personal and collective strengths.

More About Me

I have been in the behavioral health field for 17 years in Arizona and Illinois. I became a social worker in 2007, receiving my Masters degree from Governors State University. I do ongoing study at the C.G. Jung Institute in Chicago, which allows me to continue to expand the depth and breadth of my understanding of the therapeutic process. I am also certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I specializes in grade school children, adolescents, young adults and older adults. I am a Medicare provider. I accept most insurance plans and am in the office Mondays 5-9 and Fridays 1-9.
